The Azure Kingdom has found a new Queen. The wedding was celebrated a few days back. Priceless gifts were bestowed upon them by the Golden Kingdom. Prince Matthew and Lord Vash celebrated with the new couple, but the King and Queen of Diamonds were no where to be found in the grand affair.

Instead, they were sitting at their castle's grand dining hall and sharing a quiet meal. King Francis had every intention of attending the great affair in support of his friend and ally, King Alfred. It had been carefully planned for weeks.

"Tell me again why we refused to attend, your grace?"

The Queen did not bother meeting the charming eyes of her King. Instead, she kept at the meat which she was slicing gingerly. Mentally cursing, 'Damn that new chef. I told him I wanted my steak tender. To think I thought him to be a promising one'. Chefs never last in their castle. Both the King and Queen were quite particular about their food. After all, the richest kingdom can afford the best chefs. Thus, they should have the best chefs.

"There's more to ruling our kingdom than mere pleasantries and royal events. I would think after 10 years, you would have understood that by now, your highness", she sighed. Of all people, why did the diamond seal appear in the body of this idiot?

Indeed. That new chef needs to get fired immediately. This meat was too tough and the vegetables seem to be cooked in the Kingdom of Spades. This meal was absolutely horrible. Since the beginning of the meal, he's been focusing on his wine to distract himself.

"This is a royal obligation", he said with his usual smooth flair. "Alfred has been an exceptional ally of our Kingdom from the beginning. We should have been there for him!". He was obviously trying to hold his contempt with their discussion. He hated it when the Queen used such words against him.

"You speak of royal obligations as if you know much of it", she spoke quickly. Finally, her eyes met her husband's eyes. Her tone sweet, but her eyes dawned a bit of fury which she had kept inside. The King knew much of her Kingdom when in it came to the more joyous and lighter aspects. Everything else, he left for the Queen to handle while he went out in his 'social and royal obligtions'.

"Why? Is the Kingdom of Spades suffering from an illness or a plague? I think not!"
